e-biogen is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement and commenced participation in KHNP’s external open-call R&D program, K-CLOUD, together with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP), Inje University, Pusan National University, and Yeungnam University.

K-CLOUD is KHNP’s open innovation platform designed to discover creative ideas from external institutions, secure next-generation technologies, and strengthen collaborative R&D across the broader energy ecosystem. Through this project, the participating organizations will combine KHNP’s field-driven needs and public-sector R&D capabilities with the academic expertise of leading universities and the industrial execution capabilities of e-biogen, creating a strong foundation for meaningful and practical outcomes.

This collaboration is especially significant because it brings together a multi-institutional consortium spanning public enterprise, academia, and industry. By working closely across these sectors, the project is expected to accelerate the translation of research outcomes into applicable technologies, strengthen scientific validation, and create new opportunities for future expansion into broader real-world applications. For e-biogen, participation in this K-CLOUD project is expected to further enhance its collaborative R&D network, deepen its involvement in high-value convergence research, and support future commercialization opportunities based on advanced analytical and biotechnology capabilities.

For KHNP, the project is expected to reinforce its strategy of advancing open innovation through cooperation with external experts and specialized institutions. It also aligns well with KHNP’s broader radiation and biomarker-related R&D efforts, including disclosed technologies for low-dose radiation exposure biomarkers and a 2024 patent application related to serum-metabolite biomarkers for local radiation exposure. In that context, this project represents another meaningful step toward expanding KHNP’s practical technology base and strengthening future-oriented innovation capacity.
